POLICE ALERT: South of Blvd. Homes Burglarized
A series of burglaries have occurred in homes south of Ventura Boulevard, police are alerting people to be watchful. Senior Lead Officer Ron Carter offered these tips to residents about protecting themselves against burglars.
The Los Angeles Police Department has issued this alert about burglaries that have occured in homes south of Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks
This neighborhood alert for people who live south of Ventura Boulevard between Beverly Glen to the east and the 405 freeway to the west. There has been a increase of burglaries in this reporting district. The suspects have broken rear windows and kicked in rear doors to make entry into these residences. The suspects are taking jewelry, electronics and cash.
On October 2, 2011, two suspects were seen leaving a Burglary on the 15400 block of Stonewood Terrace. The suspects were described as two Male African Americans, dressed nicely in Polo shirts. The suspects fled in a 4-door black, BMW high end, with possible paper plates stating "Monrovia" in silver.
On November 4, 2011, This same vehicle was seen leaving a burglary at the 3700 block of Whitespeak Drive.
Please make sure to lock your doors and window, set your alarms and talk with your neighbors to be good lookouts. Do not leave newspapers to accumulate in your driveway. If you see any suspicious activity call the police. All of these burglaries are between 10 am and 5 pm.
There is extra patrol being given to your entire area. Air support will be conducting extra fly overs during the daytime hours. Keep in mind the secluded areas in which you live and the response time it takes a police car to get to your homes.
