Sherman Oaks Cooling Center To Remain Open Until Thursday
The record-breaking heatwave throughout Southern California is expected to continue this week.
SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A cooling center in Sherman Oaks will remain open until Thursday as Los Angeles' record-breaking heatwave is expected to continue. Local residents craving a break from the scorching temperatures can head to Sherman Oaks East Valley Adult Center for a breath of fresh air conditioning.
Sherman Oaks is expected to see more triple-digit temperatures this week. The National Weather Service forecasts a high of 102 on Tuesday, 98 on Wednesday and 98 on Thursday.
Capacity will be limited in order to maintain social distancing. The Department of Recreation and Parks urges area residents to call ahead of time to ensure there is space. You can call the East Valley Adult Center at 818-386-9674.
