SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A three car collision near Lake Balboa left one dead and another injured Thursday night. Los Angeles Fire Department arrived on scene soon after 9 p.m. and tried to rescue a trapped driver from the wreckage, but said the patient was "beyond medical help." LAFD told KTLA the driver was a 16 year old boy. No other details were immediately available.Another driver managed to extricate himself from the car, and was taken to the hospital in fair condition. A third person was involved, but reportedly fled on foot before responders arrived.No information on the cause of the crash was available.
