​10 Airbnb​ Guests Flee From Fire At Santa Rosa Home

Damage was estimated at $75,000 and was limited to the roof and attic area, officials said.

SANTA ROSA, CA — Ten people staying in an Airbnb in northeast Santa Rosa escaped without injury when a fire broke out in the home early Saturday, firefighters said.

Firefighters found most of the fire burning in the attic and around a large heating and air conditioning unit on the roof of the residence at 4626 Montgomery Drive about 1 a.m., the Santa Rosa Fire Department said.

The occupants were alerted by a smoke detector in the top floor.

The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes, but crews remained on scene for nearly two hours checking the scene to make sure no fire remained, the fire department said.

Damage was estimated at $75,000 and was limited to the roof and attic area, firefighters said.

Crews were able to protect the interior contents with covers to prevent smoke or water damage, the fire department said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
