Bicyclist Sought In Alleged Kenwood Assault Cited
The bicyclist accused of assaulting a woman in a dispute has since given his side of the story, sheriff's officials said.

SONOMA VALLEY, CA — Deputies cited a bicyclist who allegedly assaulted a woman last Wednesday in the unincorporated Sonoma County community of Kenwood, sheriff's officials said Monday. Robert Deis, 62, of Santa Rosa was cited on suspicion of misdemeanor battery and released pending a court date after he got in touch with the sheriff's office to provide his side of the story.
Sheriff's officials said Deis told deputies that he had an argument with two Kenwood residents and the woman came after him while he was straddling his bicycle and shoved him.
According to the sheriff's office, Deis told deputies that he grabbed the woman's arms and pushed her away in self-defense and she fell back toward her husband.

Deis rode away to avoid any more conflict with the residents.
According to sheriff's officials, one of the residents' neighbors took a photo of Deis and distributed it.
