Body Found in West-Side Field

A body was discovered in an open field at 4th St West at West MacArthur, according to a Sonoma Police Department report.

The dead women was discovered Wednesday, during a resident's walk through the field.

The body may have been laying in the field for approximately a week, police said, based on decomposition. The women was partially obscured from view, lying under a tree beside tall grass.

Detectives from the Sonoma County Sheriff's office conducted a preliminary investigation, due to the condition of the body. Police say they suspect no evidence of foul play. 

The Police Department had not yet released confirmed the woman's identity or notified next of kin as of Thursday morning.
