A mentored studio for long-term oil painting projects with personalized guidance, weekly reviews, and support tailored to each artist’s level and goals.

What you’ll do

This continuous Atelier studio offers sustained, personalized mentorship for students working on long-term oil painting projects. It is structured to serve artists at various stages of development, from those applying foundational knowledge to advanced students exploring profound expressive concepts.

  • Phase 1: Project Proposal & Private Consultation: All students submit a project proposal. You will meet individually and privately with the instructor to define the scope, set challenging yet achievable goals based on your current skill level, and create a comprehensive roadmap for the duration of the course. This ensures a productive and focused experience, regardless of whether you are a recent beginner or an advanced painter.
  • Phase 2: Weekly Problem-Solving Studio: You work independently on your project, benefiting from the structure of a studio environment. The instructor conducts weekly, dedicated review time, providing customized guidance. This support scales precisely to your needs, ensuring you receive the appropriate technical advice to overcome obstacles specific to your project and your level of experience.

Integration with The Chromatic Voice (taught on Monday mornings): This course is the essential practical partner, ensuring that both foundational knowledge and advanced conceptual exploration are successfully translated into realized, high-quality paintings.

Prerequisite: Students must have completed at least one introductory course in oil painting or demonstrate equivalent foundational knowledge (e.g., knowledge of basic setup, brush cleaning, and layering principles).
