Learn watercolor landscape fundamentals. Build skills in value, color, and composition through a step-by-step layering process.
What you’ll do
This
6 week class focuses on the fundamentals of watercolor landscape
painting. Participants will enhance their observational skills and
practice watercolor techniques by working from photographs.
Instructor
Hannah Day teaches a unique approach to watercolor, intended to
alleviate the frustration that many experience when learning this
beautiful yet challenging medium. The class will focus on strengthening
observational skills, training the student to see value and color which
provides a foundation to build their paintings in a step-by-step
layering process.
We will cover essential elements of rendering a
scenic painting, including composition, color temperature, value,
linear perspective, and atmospheric perspective. Gain a new appreciation
for the beauty of your surroundings through the process of painting a
landscape one layer at a time.
All levels of experience are welcome, including total beginners!
Materials are provided, but students are encouraged to bring their own watercolor palette if they have one.
