As officers searched the residence, they saw in plain view a firearm and shotgun in the room Perez had exited. Detectives then authored a search warrant for the entire residence and found two handguns, a sawed-off pistol grip shotgun, ammunition, suspected narcotics for sale and a digital scale. The items can be seen in the above images.
Perez was arrested and later booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on three felony charges: PC 29800(a)(1) – Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm; HS 11351 – Possession of Narcotics for Sale; and PC 186.22 (b) – Gang Enhancement.

Detectives also requested a bail enhancement for Perez fearing he would flee the country to avoid prosecution. Perez was federally extradited back to the United States from Mexico on a criminal arrest warrant in February, 2015. The bail enhancement was granted and his bail was set at $250,000.
Detectives say they're now following up on the investigation to determine if the firearms were stolen or was used in other crimes.
