Council to Tackle Fire Department Merger, Pool on the Chopping Block

Held over from Monday night's Independence Day revelries, the Sonoma City Council meets tonight with a jam-packed agenda of municipal.

The public will finally hear details of the potential , which has been discussed in the Council's closed session meetings for several months.

In addition, several hot button topics are on the agenda:

• Staff will give an update of the California budget and how it effects Sonoma's .
• Council will discuss the formation of a Tourism Improvement District, with potential to draft an agreement tonight.
• The council may disband the City Council’s Swimming Pool Committee, as requested by Councilmember Brown.
