Local Fame: Girl and the Fig Featured on KQED's "Check, Please"

Adding another notch on restaurateur Sondra Bernstein's belt, the popular restaurant round-table gave high marks to the Plaza favorite

Popular locavore restaurant and press favorite Girl and the Fig has another media accolate: the choice Plaza spot was recently featured on KQED's "Check, Please."

The restaurant round-table program highlighted Girl and the Fig on an episode airing Sept. 14, which also featured San Francisco noshes from Rhea's Deli and Sauce

Alongside covetous shots of the restaurants cheese plates and mussels, the show highlighted the restaurants devotion to producers and locals.

"I love the idea that the girl and the fig can be a meeting place where we get to see our friends and neighbors, our merchants, the winemakers," said proprietor Sondra Bernstein.  "And of course we get people from all over the world."

"I don't want the girl and the fig to be just another meal, I want it to be a memory that will last for a really long time," she continued.

Clearly the meal was memorable enough for KQED.
