North Bay Woman Rescued From Partially Submerged Car After Crashing Into Creek
A woman and her dog spent more than eight hours inside her car after crashing and becoming stuck in a creek in unincorporated North Bay.

NORTH BAY, CA -- A woman who became trapped in her car with her dog after crashing and becoming stuck in a creek late Friday night in Sonoma County was rescued after spending more than eight hours inside the partially submerged vehicle, the Monte Rio Fire Protection District's fire chief said.
At about 7:50 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, someone reported seeing a vehicle inside Austin Creek along the 5800 block of Cazadero Highway near the community of Cazadero in an unincorporated area of Western Sonoma County, Fire Chief Steve Baxman said.
Two firefighters then put on wetsuits and found that a woman was inside the car with her dog. The woman said she had spent the night inside her vehicle after it crashed into the creek.

Baxman said he believed the crash occurred at about 11:30 p.m. Friday.
After being rescued from the vehicle, the woman was able to walk, but was taken to a hospital with minor injuries to her shoulder. The dog was not injured in the crash, according to Baxman.

The woman's name and city of residence have not yet been released by authorities.
