PHOTOS: Huge Sonoma Plaza Tree Toppled by Wind and Rain

A large tree just yards away from a children's play area was toppled during the Feb. 17 storm at the Sonoma Plaza in downtown Sonoma.

SONOMA, CA --A large tree just yards away from a children's play area was toppled during a storm Friday, Feb. 17 at the Sonoma Plaza in downtown Sonoma.

The tree came crashing down, but did not hit any objects, nor were there reports of any injuries. The massive tree was just yards away from the iconic Sonoma City Hall.

Crews were able to use chain saws to cut up part of the tree, but the base and some of the roots were blocked off by caution tape.
