Friday, August 19

Trespassing: A 50-year-old Sonoma resident decided to hold a one-man protest over a construction project on West Macarthur Street, next to his home. At 6:40 am, after crews gave him numerous orders to leave, a crewman placed him under citizen's arrest and called the police, who placed the man in handcuffs - with difficulty, after went limp, refusing to move. He was charged with one count of trespassing and one count of resisting arrest and was booked into Sonoma County jail.

DUI: Police spotted a Greyhound Odyssey speeding on Second Street East and East Napa and pulled over the driver Eliot Carter. Carter, a 40-year-old Sonoma man, appeared intoxicated and registered a blood alcohol level of .15 and .16 in subsequent breath tests at the Sonoma Police Department. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and was released to his wife.

Consumption of Alcohol in Public: At 8:50 an officer patrolling the bike path found two Boyes Hot Springs men, both 28, drinking 24 oz. cans near the entrance on Waken Drive. Both were charged with consumption of alcohol in public, one was charged with an additional probation violation.

Tuesday, August 23

Stolen Car: A man reported his blue Ford F250 pickup truck was stolen from , where he had it listed for consignment sale. He approached employees after he noticed the truck was missing from the parking lot on Aug. 23; employees said it had been missing since Aug. 19.

Possession of Marijuana: An officer at found a cell phone strewn on the ground with an unusual text message: "I've got $5, did you bring the brownie?" The deputy contacted the owner of the cell phone, a 15-year-old Boyes Hot Springs boy, and found a small bud of marijuana concealed in his backpack. The message was sent by a boy, 14, who was concealing a marijuana-laced brownie in his backpack. Both boys were charged with possession of marijuana on school grounds.

Wednesday, August 24

Theft: Someone stole a purse out of a BMW, parked on Austin Ave., sometime between Aug. 23 and 24. Missing from the purse was a credit card, debit card, CostCo membership card and $300 of cosmetics.

Thursday, August 25

Grand Theft from a Motor Vehicle: At 8:15am a Sonoma firefighter reported that a gyps navigation system, satellite radio, defibrillator, fire jacket and binder had been stolen from his 2007 Toyota Highlander, parked on the 300 block of First Street West. The car showed no signs of forced entry. A sweater and windbreaker were stolen from a 2010 Kia Fort parked at the same location.

Possession of Alcohol: A deputy was called to Gateway High School to deal with a problem student, a 15-year-old Boyes Hot Springs boy, who was late for school. A search of the boy's backpack revealed a 1.7 lt. bottle of Jose Cuervo tequila and a marijuana bong. He was charged with possession of alcohol and possession of tobacco paraphernalia.

Theft: Someone stole a FasTrak transponder, mailbox key and insurance card from a Honda Accord parked on the 200 block of Second Street East. The owner says the vehicle was locked, but there were no signs of forced entry.

Drunk in Public: Sonoma police arrested a 60-year-old Sonoma man who was found to be intoxicated after crashing his bicycle on Fifth Street West and Leveroni.  

Petty Theft: Sonoma man reported that someone had broken into his unlocked Honda Civic and stolen a pair of Nikon binoculars.
