Police Search For Elderly Sonoma Valley Man With Alzheimers
John Blayney, 84, is an avid walker in the rural gated community known as The George Ranch

The search is on for an elderly Sonoma Valley man, who went missing after a routine walk Tuesday afternoon.
John Blayney, 84, went for a walk around 2 p.m. Tuesday and failed to return to his home on the 3300 block of White Alder.
Blayney suffers from mild Alzheimer's and is "at risk" due to this condition. He is an avid walker in the rural gated community known as The George Ranch, located in the Grove St. / White Alder area.

Since 6 p.m. the Sheriff's Search and Rescue team has been scowering the area, with helecopter aid, for Blayney. Currently about 40 Search and rescue members from Sonoma County and neighboring counties are participating in the search.
Blayney was last seen wearing navy blue sweat pants, a rust colored, short-sleeved shirt, a dark green fleece pull-over and a tan "Tilley" broad-brimmed hat. He wears glasses and a hearing aide. Blayney is described as a white male, 5'10" tall, 140 lbs with a slim build. He is bald with a gray beard.
