What does this community leader do?
Diane, a retired attorney, volunteers 2 days a week at our vibrant Senior Center as a receptionist, she drives elders to and from doctors appointments as a volunteer, and additionally for a sister organization, spends a morning a week in the parking lot of our building distributing food for the Meals on Wheels program.
Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?
Diane's leadership is through role modeling how to help organizations like ours meet our mission on a shoe-string, while staying connected to her community and using her time for meaningful unpaid work.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?
Diane was a hard worker throughout her paid career, and is an almost full-time volunteer, pitching in whenever asked in addition to her 4 days a week regular volunteer responsibilities. She is an incredible role model for all of us.
