Sonoma County Man Arrested For Brother's Murder: Police

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- A 38-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly fatally shooting his brother in Forestville on Friday, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded at about 7:15 p.m. on March 24 to the 9800 block of River Road after a woman called to say her son Shaun Gallon had left the home with a rifle and that her 36-year-old son Shamus Gallon had been shot with the rifle, sheriff's officials said.

The woman said Shaun Gallon fled in a white Ford Aerostar minivan and provided the license plate number.

Deputies soon spotted the van traveling west on River Road and one braked hard to try to make a U-turn behind it, causing a deputy traveling behind to collide into the other's vehicle. Neither deputy was injured but
both vehicles were inoperable, sheriff's officials said.

A third deputy eventually found the van parked at a gas station and took Shaun Gallon into custody without incident while also recovering the rifle, according to the sheriff's office.

Other deputies responded to the shooting scene and found witnesses performing CPR on Shamus Gallon. The resuscitation efforts were not successful and he was pronounced dead at the scene, sheriff's officials said.

Shaun Gallon was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of homicide and is being held without bail.

The two brothers lived together in the home along with the mother, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators have not determined the motive for the shooting and said there doesn't appear to have been an altercation of any significance that preceded the shooting.
