Mob, Fight, Brutal Sunday Night
Police received a report that a large fight had broken out at The on 1:29am on Sunday, Aug. 7. They arrived to find a mob scene: officers estimate 60-80 people were standing outside Town Square, pointing and yelling.

Witnesses say the fight started when Walter Borges, a 28-year-old Sonoma man, picked a fight with another Sonoma man. The man left the bar, and Borges followed with friends, shoving the man to the ground and kicking him repeatedly to the ground.
The victim, 24, received multiple lacerations to the head and ear, and was taken to with non-life threatening injuries.

Borges told cops that he was "getting eyeballed" by the other man; when he fled the bar the young man jumped him and he responded in defense.
Borges was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail, charged with a felony count of assault with a deadly weapon.
Friday, August 5
Public Intoxication: At 1:42am an officer found a 24-year-old El Verano man sitting, head between his legs, in the road at the intersection of Highway 12 and West Napa Street. The man “grunted unintelligibly” and could not stand. He was arrested, charged with public intoxication and transported to county jail.
Violation of Probation: After noticing a motor home sitting at the corner of Smith Street and Manuella Lane for three days, officers ran the plates, and discovered it belonged to a 62-year-old Glen Ellen man on probation, with a ‘no alcohol’ clause. Officers searched the vehicle, discovered a bottle of Knobb Creek whisky and issued a citation for a probation violation.
DUI: A police officer spotted a 1994 black Dodge Caravan making an illegal left turn from First Street West onto West Napa Street. Inside they found James Martin, a 53 Petaluma man, who appeared intoxication and told cops he had “a few pint sized beers" at . Martin blew a .103 blood-alcohol ratio on a breath test and .11 at the police station. He was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and released to a friend.
Saturday, August 6
Public Intoxication: At 1:54 am a police officer spotted a 26-year-old San Francisco man lying on a park bench in the Plaza, appearing intoxicated. The officer asked the man for an ID card; the confused semi-supine man handed him a chapstick. He was charged with public intoxication and transported to county jail.
Sunday, August 7
Arson: The owner of a dog grooming business on the 600 block of First Street West reported that several wooden posts on her back fence were burnt, apparently by lighting fire to a piece of fabric draped over top of the fence. The business owner said the area is a hangout zone for teen skateboarders, who sometimes leave a mess.
Burglary: A resident of the 1100 block of Neo Court reported two bikes— a 2011 Sinner XLT black and blue BMX bike worth $700, and a 2005 Blue Trek Remedy mountain bike, purchased new for $2,700—stolen. The home’s garage was closed at midnight on Aug. 6 when they returned home, by 8am on Aug. 7 it was open and the bikes were gone.
Petty Theft: A resident on the 700 block of Fourth Street East reported that an electric chop saw, valued at $300, and toolbox with about $300 worth of hand tools, were taken from his garage during the night.
Tuesday, August 9
Bike Theft: A light blue 21-speed Hybrid bike, worth $150, was taken from a garage on the 100 block of Newcomb Street, sometime between 10am and 1:30pm.
Possession of Controlled Substance: Police stopped Socrates Giannis, a 36-year-old Sonoma resident on probation with a search-cause, at 12:29pm on Hwy 12 and Ramon St. In his car the officers found two knives—illegal for Giannis, who is prevented from carrying weapons in his probation agreement. The officers then searched his home on the 400 block of Fifth Street West, where they found .2 grams of methamphetamines, two pipes and a scale laced with marijuana and meth residue. Giannis was booked into county jail, charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation.
Attempted Burglary: At 3:32pm the owner of a business on the 700 block of Napa Street heard a loud crash. He spotted two white males in their twenties, fleeing in a white pickup truck with a camper shell, after throwing a large safe over the fence to his parking lot, hinging it open and spilling its contents out. The contents of the safe were returned to their rightful owners, who home on the 700 block of West Napa Street. They are also missing a watch collection, valued at $1,000 and several piece of costume jewelry.
Theft: An antique saddle, valued at $1,000, was taken from a ranch on the 0 block of Second Street East.
Wednesday, August 10
Stolen Property: At 7:06pm police pulled over Preston Hudspeeh, a 41-year-old Boyes Hot Springs resident, for impeding traffic on the 500 block of Grove St. When the officers searched his car, they found a laptop and an elephant pendant, reported stolen from Pengrove on Aug. 9. Additionally, officers found a wristwatch and an iPod, which they believe were also stolen. He was arrested, charged with possession of stolen property and driving on a suspended license.
Found Property: An orange 20-inch boys bicycle was found on the 200 block of West Napa Street.
