Sonoma Valley Man Arrested After Alleged Father Beating

Deputies in the Sonoma Valley arrested a 24-year-old man who allegedly beat his father Friday morning.

SONOMA VALLEY - Deputies in the Sonoma Valley arrested a 24-year-old man who allegedly beat his father Friday morning.

According to the Sonoma sheriff's department, deputies were called to a Sonoma Valley address to assist a 54-year-old man whose son had allegedly punched and kicked his father numerous times, causing the father to briefly lose consciousness.

According to investigators, an argument between the two began when the father confronted his son, 24-year-old Emanuel Mendoza-Maciel, about "not getting a job or helping out around the house."

The sheriff's office says Emanuel Mendoza-Maciel was arrested for two felonies: Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Battery with Injury & Criminal Threats.
