Your Favorite Artist May Be a Sonoma Treasure
The Sonoma's Cultural and Fine Arts Commission is accepting nominations for the 2011 Sonoma Treasure Artist of the Year Award
The City of Sonoma’s Cultural and Fine Arts Commission is now accepting nominations for the 2011 Sonoma Treasure Artist of the Year Award.
First awarded in 1983, the Sonoma Treasure is selected and recognized for outstanding achievement in a chosen artistic medium including the performing, visual, theatrical, literary and craft arts.
Previous award recipients include famed food writer MFK. Fisher, painter Keith Wicks and costume designer Linda Rawls. In 2010 the commission named muralist and teacher Gayle Manfre a Sonoma Treasure Artist.

The public is invited to nominate, in writing, individuals they feel would be worthy of the Sonoma Treasure Artist honor. Include a brief description of the artist’s work and contributions to the community, and reasons for the nomination.

Nominations will be accepted in the office of the City Clerk, No. 1 The Plaza, Sonoma, CA 95476 until 5:00 p.m. September 14, 2011.
