1 Killed, 8 Others Hurt in Shooting at Compton Party
The shooting occurred about 1:35 a.m. in the 900 block of West Victoria Street. A motive was unknown.

COMPTON, CA - A man was killed and eight other people were wounded in a shooting Sunday morning at a large party in Compton.
The shooting occurred about 1:35 a.m. in the 900 block of West Victoria Street, according to the sheriff's department.
The fatally wounded man was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Deputy Mike Barraza of the Sheriff's Information Bureau said.

Eight victims with gunshot wounds were taken to hospitals, where they were being treated, according to the sheriff's department. Their conditions were not made available.
