Kaiser Permanente Downey Grants More Than $80,000 to Local Non-profits
The medical center has granted more than $445,000 to non-profits in Los Angeles County.

Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center (KPDMC) has announced that it invested more than $80,000 in Community Benefit grants to non-profit organizations in South Gate and Lynwood.
The grants are intended to help several local organizations currently working towards providing access to health insurance and health care services, interventions, and organizations that address the needs of at-risk youth.

The following South Gate and Lynwood non-profit organizations obtained funding as listed by the press-release:
- · Worksite Wellness LA: $12,500 for health care insurance awareness and enrollment and health education programs
- · Esperanza Community Housing: $10,000 for health education workshops
- ·Enrich LA: $14,000 for an outdoor cooking area in the South Gate Middle School garden and delivery of a Home and Garden Economics class
- · INMED: $25,000 to support mentoring and education for teen parents
- · Students Run LA: $10,000 for marathon training program
- · Human Services Association: $10,000 for HIV and STD awareness, pregnancy prevention, violence prevention, and stress management programs for teens.Â
