Suspected Drunk Driver Arrested in Lynwood

The suspect allegedly attempted to ram the deputies with his vehicle.

LYNWOOD (CNS) - Sheriff's deputies pursued a suspected drunk driver from
Compton into Lynwood, where he tried to ram their cruiser with his Ford Mustang, authorities said today.

The chase began at around 9 p.m. on Sunday when deputies observed the man driving erratically in the area of Santa Fe Avenue and Alondra Boulevard, said Sgt. K. Ebbinga of the sheriff's Compton Station.

Deputies pursued the suspected drunk driver to Bullis Road and Carlin Avenue in Lynwood, where "his car spun out and he attempted to ram the deputies' car,'' Ebbinga said

There was minor damage to the deputies' cruiser, and the suspect was taken into custody, he said.
