8 Reasons to Attend The Arts Crawl Saturday

Artists and businesses in South Pasadena are teaming up again to host an from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 14.

Here are six reasons why you should go:

1. Carnival cut-outs. Look for these fun photo opps scattered around town—mostly on Mission Street. Designed by local artists, this collaborative project is sponsored by and . It's the brainchild of resident creative director Marie Miller. Be sure to snap a pic, and upload it to this article!

2. Food Trucks. Popular food trucks such as Slammin’ Sliders, Dosatruck, Auntie’s Fry Bread and Paradise Cookies will be in town. South Pas eateries will also be open late, including , and

3. An Open Mic. Highlighting poets from all around the San Gabriel Valley, SPArC will present "Visions and Voices of the Valley" from 6 to 9 p.m. at the . Expect spoken word and music acts on stage, including Detour Improv and the Nuvein Foundation for Literature and the Arts.

4. Arts & Crafts. Learn how to sew with Sew Cranky at Heritage Gardens by the Walking Man statue. DeMilo Design (Corner of Mission St. and Fremont Ave.) will also have ongoing letterpress printing demonstrations. Artist Barb Skoogs will be demonstrating paper marbeling at . (Author Stephen Jared will also be in the store.) And artisan jeweller Dana Onaga will be in .

5. Live Music. C-Horse will be at , Brad Colerick & Friends at , Tall Cello Guy at the (show starts at 7 p.m.), Music by Ralphy at , a DJ at . And much more at , , and .
