One of my core beliefs is that change is usually a good thing. The 37 years I have spent teaching at Marengo, serving as principal at both Arroyo Vista and MHS have all been rewarding educational experiences. I have been weighing this decision for some time, but now I am resolute that this is the right time to pursue other interests.
I am thankful for the nineteen years I have been principal at MHS. The staff I have hired, the unique educational experiences and personal friendships developed at Monterey Hills School will always be cherished. Leaving is not without difficulty, but I will always think of MHS as a special school with wonderful students and generous and supportive parents. I said this after my first month as principal here, and still believe it now, MHS is truly the best kept secret in South Pasadena!
Best regards,
Joe Johnson Principal
