Suspect Arrested In Online Threat To South Pasadena High: UPDATED
A suspect has been arrested for allegedly threatening South Pasadena High School, and a lockdown has been lifted. (BREAKING)

SOUTH PASADENA, CA — A suspect is in custody after allegedly threatening to "shoot up" South Pasadena High School, triggered a campus lockdown Friday morning.
By 11:40 a.m., the lockdown was lifted, said South Pasadena Police Department Sgt. Spencer Louie. According to a police statement, a "snapshot taken from a social media post revealed a possible generalized threat against the school," and a 17-year- old male student was identified as the suspect. Officers went to the boy's home, but he wasn't there. He was later contacted by phone and was subsequently taken into custody at the police station.
Fox11 reported that the teen posted a photo showing handguns, assault rifles and boxes of ammunition, with a line saying "3 replies and I'll shoot up the school."

The boy's name was withheld.
Police haven't determined whether the threat was credible. Authorities are not releasing further details about the suspect at this point.

The South Pasadena Police Department was notified of a violent threat against the school at around 9 a.m., Louie said. He said the lockdown was a precaution, as police believed the suspect was not on campus.
