The South Coast Air Quality Management District is warning residents with health concerns to stay indoors as much as possible Wednesday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Health officials warned residents of the East San Gabriel Valley with heart disease, asthma or other respiratory conditions to stay indoors as much as possible Wednesday, based on air quality predictions.

The South Coast Air Quality Management District predicts air quality in that region will be unhealthy for sensitive individuals.

School children with sensitive conditions should not participate in outdoor physical activity, said Dr. Jeffrey Gunzenhauser, the county's interim health officer.
