Coming To SSF: Iconic Russian Bakery Plans One-Day Pop-Up
Order sweet & savory, Eastern-European pastries from Piroshky Piroshky of Seattle's Pike Place Market, for April 28 pick-up at Elks Lodge.
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO , CA — Piroshky Piroshky, a beloved Russian bakery in Seattle, is marking its 30th anniversary with a U.S. tour, including three stops in the San Francisco Bay Area — one in South San Francisco.
Pre-orders can be placed online by April 26 for April 28 pick-up at the Elks Lodge on Stonegate Drive.
Opened in 1992 in Seattle's Pike Place Market and dubbed "iconic" by Smithsonian Magazine, Piroshky Piroshky often has lines out the door of customers craving such scratch-made, Eastern-European sweet and savory pastries as cinnamon cardamom braid, marzipan rolls, pierogies and the traditional, hand-held "piroshky" stuffed pies.

The shop was featured on the late celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain's “No Reservations” and was voted one of “The 20 Most Iconic Food Destinations Across America” by Smithsonian Magazine.
“We are blessed to be traveling around the country, meeting our community while bringing Seattle’s best vendors with us,” said Olga Sagan, Piroshky Piroshky owner. Among offerings available at the one-day pop-up are: beef & cheese, chicken, curry & rice or beef & potato piroshky, vegan borscht, potato & cheese pierogies, pork & chicken pelmeni (traditional Russian dumplings), cinnamon cardamom braid, chocolate cream hazelnut rolls, Moscow rolls and rhubarb piroshky with Bavarian cream.
To order, visit the pre-order link here, and scroll to South San Francisco details. Local orders are due by 3:30 p.m. April 26 for April 28 pick-up from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the South San Francisco Elks Lodge 2091 at 920 Stonegate Drive. Order minimums are $50.
