Over 140 Traffic Citations In South San Francisco Operation: Police
Police made 154 traffic stops and issued 144 citations, they said.
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Police issued 144 citations during a recent traffic enforcement operation, according to San Mateo County authorities.
The traffic enforcement program took place Tuesday in South San Francisco, where 13 deputies and officers from various agencies across the county participated in the deployment, which was the fourth this year, authorities said.
They made 154 traffic stops, including one arrest for driving with a suspended license, and gave the following citations, according to the San Mateo Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association:

- 65 for using a cellphone while driving;
- 17 for failing to obey a posted sign;
- 15 for not using a seat belt;
- 10 for failing to stop at a red light;
- Nine for failing to stop at a stop sign;
- Nine for speeding;
- Four for inoperative vehicle lighting;
- Three for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk;
- Three for driving without vehicle collision insurance;
- Two for driving without proof of vehicle registration;
- Two for driving without a valid driver’s license;
- Two for driving with expired vehicle registration;
- Two for making an illegal U-turn;
- Two for making an unsafe lane change;
- One for driving the wrong way.
