UNIVERSAL CITY, CA โ€” Fifteen people were taken to hospitals after a tram accident Saturday night at Universal Studios Hollywood, according to authorities.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded shortly after 9 p.m. to the 3900 block of Lankershim Boulevard, the agency reported on social media, characterizing the injuries as minor, although California Highway Patrol said Sunday that some were moderate.

While the tram was negotiating a turn, its last car collided with a metal guardrail, "causing it to tilt and eject multiple passengers,โ€ according to highway patrol. Sheriff's Lt. Maria Abal said the four-car tram used for movie studio backlot tours might have experienced an issue with its brakes.
