Adrin Nazarian Holds Studio City Meet-and-Greet in Run for State Assembly
Studio City Neighborhood Council President John Walker holds the casual gathering at his home in Colfax Meadows.
Adrin Nazarian knew the names of nearly everyone in the crowd—he had dealt with them on community issues in recent years—but now he was introducing himself in Studio City as a candidate for the newly-drawn 46th State Assembly district.
“I worked with him on the East Valley YMCA Board for many years,” said co-organizer of the event, Susan Blau. “He is incredible.”
John Walker, host of the afternoon house party and president of the Studio City Neighborhood Council, said, “I met him when I was a strong supporter of . I do have to confirm what other people here said, when you make a phone call to him, you get a response from someone who cares, and will find the answer for you.”

He said the problem with the state Legislature is not a partisan Republican or Democratic problem, but that the system of the house needs to change.
Some of the notables in the audience included Studio City Residents Association’s Alan and Beth Dymond; Neighborhood Council members Remy Kessler, , Richard Neiderberg, Denise Welvang and Ben Di Benedetto. On Tuesday, Nazarian was given the thumbs-up by the Los Angeles County Young Democrats—the first and only countywide Democratic group to endorse anyone in the race.
“The Los Angeles County Young Democrats voted to support Adrin Nazarian for Assembly District 46 because he is an excellent candidate with substantial ties to the San Fernando Valley and communities throughout the new Assembly District," said David Graham-Caso, president of the Los Angeles County Young Democrats.
The new Assembly District includes North Hollywood, Studio City, Toluca Lake, Sherman Oaks, Valley Village, Valley Glen, Van Nuys, Panorama City, North Hills, Lake Balboa and the Hollywood Hills. The primary is June 5.
“I very much love doing this,” he said, while taking people’s concerns and complaints at the informal chat. “I’m not the best speaker, I do not like the limelight, but I know how to negotiate and how to get things done.”
