UPDATE: Power Restored After Channels 2 and 9 Knocked Off Air by Power Outage
A large power outage has knocked off power in Studio City.
UPDATE: By 11:30 p.m. the power was back up in the neighborhood, and both stations were back on the air. A cause has yet to be identified.
A power outage in Studio City knocked KCBS-TV Channel 2 and KCAL-TV Channel 9 off the air and left about 400 customers in an apartment complex without electricity tonight.
The outage began around 8 p.m. at the complex at 11800 Moorpark St., between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Colfax Avenue, said Jane Galbraith of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

"KCBS and KCAL are indeed without power,'' Galbraith said. "A crew is going to get them onto another circuit and try to reroute their power.''
The stations were expected to have service restored within two to three hours, Galbraith said.

"Hopefully it happens sooner than that though,'' Galbraith said. The cause of the outage was unknown.
At 11:09 p.m. Channel 2 was back on the air, but Channel 9 was still without sound and showing helicopter footage of the power outage and the neighborhood. At 10:31 p.m. the station had stationary photo reading "We apologize...we're experienceing technical difficulties Be back soon!"
The apartment complex nearby that was affected appeared to be off Radford Avenue near Valleyheart Boulevard.
