101 Freeway Crash Near Studio City: 1 Dead, Car Split In Half
A deadly crash early Thursday forced part of the 101 to close near Studio City, authorities say. The wreck split a vehicle in half.

STUDIO CITY, CA โ A deadly multi-vehicle crash early Thursday morning forced part of the 101 connector to close near Studio City.
The crash happened around 2 a.m. Thursday, according to reports. A 20-year-old Pasadena woman reportedly died in the wreck. She was returning home from her boyfriend's house and began merging onto the 134 Freeway when she realized she needed to stay on the 101 Freeway. She lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a center divider near the Tujunga Avenue off-ramp, splitting the vehicle, KTTV reported.
Subsequently, an SUV driver crashed into her vehicle, injuring that driver and a passenger. The Pasadena driver was thrown from her vehicle and died at the scene, according to CBS News.

The eastbound lanes of the 101 (Ventura Freeway) connector to the southbound lanes of the 101 (Hollywood Freeway) was closed, Caltrans said.
Additionally, the Tujunga Boulevard off ramp was also closed.

Traffic was diverted to the eastbound lanes of State Route 134.
