A free-to-attend Small Business Seminar will be held that evening at the Encino Community Center (4935 Balboa Blvd., Encino). Doors open with refreshments at 5:30, discussion starts at 6 pm. The goal of the seminar is to connect business owners and operators directly with local, State and Federal organizations that will answer your questions about taxes, small business loans, City planning, building codes and a host of other issues. Among the many expert speakers expected to be on hand are Larry Galstian - Chief for Commercial Inspection Division, Department of Building and Safety; Todd Borzi - Chief of Building Inspection Division, Department of Building and Safety; Tom Glick - City Planner, Department of City Planning; Maya Zutler - Legislative Affairs Manager, Valley Industry and Commerce Association (VICA); Bridget Netter - Program Manager, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce; Bob Cohen, President of the Sherman Oaks Chamber; and Melissa Loeffler (pictured here with Councilmember Koretz), President of the Encino Chamber of Commerce.
