Family Field Day Urges Movement for the Summer [PHOTOs]

is a special event at Valley View Elementary School at the end of every school year to encourage teamwork and working together.

the sixth grade teacher at Valley View, runs the Los Angeles Marathon every year and raises money to help put on the Field Day.

"This is a fun day to show how we can work together and do tasks that require teamwork," Getzoff said when kicking off the event. The students and their teachers do things like obstacle courses, shooting a ball high in the air with a parachute, grab the bacon, build items with giant building blocks and other games.

Parents, teachers, staff and the entire school participates.
