LAPD Officer Accused Of Sexually Assaulting A Minor

LOS ANGELES, CA — Police in Los Angeles and Torrance are investigating an accusation that an LAPD officer sexually assaulted a minor, officials said Friday.

Sgt. Ronald Harris of the Torrance Police Department confirmed that an investigation was underway, but he said the suspect's name could not be released because it could compromise the investigation.

No arrests have been made, and Torrance police are working with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Officials with the Los Angeles Police Department have started an administrative investigation of the case. The officer has been assigned to stay home while the investigation continues, according to the LAPD.

Police would not release further details about the alleged crime.
