Raining Cats and Dogs (and One Bird) at Blessing Pets at the Little Brown Church

It was mostly dogs and cats this year at the at the over the weekend.

Only one animal wasn't either a dog or a cat—it was a bird.

"I'm not really sure what kind of a bird, it could have been a parrot," said Pastor Russell Willoughby, the senior minister of the little church in Studio City.

The rains on Saturday put a damper on the more unusual guests that come for the Blessing of the Animals (see).

"This year, it was a little sad because a lot of the animals that were brought here were sick animals, and they wanted us to pray for them to get better," the pastor said.

Auctions for dog and cat treats were given out throughout the morning in the back. See photos in the gallery above.

Easter Sunday services next week are at 8 a.m. and there's an Easter egg hunt after.
