Ron Galperin Runs for City Controller
Here are statements Galperin made to the Studio City Neighborhood Council.
Ron Galperin discussed his bid for City Controller to the Studio City Neighborhood Council. He knew that he was coming to the area where he present city controller, Wendy Greuel, lives and where she earned her political chops.
“We need a new leadership, new people and a new way of thinking,” Galperin said.
He said some reports do not get heard by the current controller, and that more action on the reports should be acted upon.

“It’s a good place to be talking from a bully pulpit and you should be careful about how you shame and embarrass people to do the right thing, and work behind the scenes to get it to work out,” he explained.
He said he would go behind the scenes and talk to the various parties and solve issues like the expense of operating the city parking garages—which are running at a loss.

The deficit may seem daunting, but Galperin said, “We can find that money and still fix our infrastructure.”
He has been part of the Bel Air/Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council
He said, “Not many people pay attention to the controller position. Anyone can promise to offer less, but I have come to understand the finances of the city in an intmate way and there are solutions. We can make the budget in an innovative and entrepreneurial way.”
