There was just a product of enough moisture available and certainly enough heat and lift to cause some convection. We observed moderate to heavy rain at Studio City Weather Center, with rain gauges recording about 0.13" of rain in about a twenty minute period, which is a pretty decent amount for a summer pop-up shower. The cell is currently moving slowly Northeast towards Burbank with some residual light showers remaining over the Studio City/North Hollywood area, and those should end shortly.
