Traffic Alert: Water Main Break In Studio City

A water main broke in Studio City on Wednesday.

STUDIO CITY, CA -- A water main broke Wednesday afternoon in Studio City. The water main break reportedly caused flooding on Dona Maria Drive and Oakdell Road, sending a geyser shooting through the pavement Wednesday afternoon.

The gushing water was reported about 2:05 p.m. in the area Dona Maria Drive and Oakdell Road, near Laurel Canyon Drive, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The water flowed down the neighborhood's hilly streets without flooding any homes.

The broken line was pinched off, stopping the bulk of the flow, and crews were sent to shut the water completely off and make permanent repairs, according to Michael Ventre of the Department of Water and Power.

The break interrupted service to seven homes, he said.
