The Armijo High School Royal Regiment, which is the Armijo High School marching band, won several awards, including the NCBA Scholastic Concert Percussion Champion title.

“We are incredibly proud to celebrate the Armijo High School Royal Regiment and their exceptional achievements,” said Louise Jacob, Armijo High School band director. “Our students gave unforgettable performances and represented Armijo with excellence, heart, and pride.”

The Armijo Mallet Ensemble, which finished the band season undefeated, impressed with a powerful performance and earned the highest score of the competition, with an 85.90, and the percussion champion title.

The Armijo National AA Scholastic Guard finished sixth overall and multiple Armijo students earned individual awards. Kayleigh Kurtz, a Armijo high school senior, and Gwen Lim, a junior, each earned an NCBA Outstanding Performer award, which Kurtz was awarded a $500 scholarship prize for.

Sophomore Jordan Mathews came in fifth for Mace Novice A and Izza Defeo, a junior, placed seventh in Military Mace Novice AA.

“These accomplishments are a true reflection of the hard work, talent, and dedication of our students, along with the steadfast leadership and guidance from our instructors and staff,” Jacob said. “Watching these students grow — not only as performers, but as individuals — has been amazing. From the artistry of the guard to the precision of the percussion and the strength of our drum majors, the Armijo Royal Regiment continues to set a standard of excellence.”
