Fairfield Police Seize Drugs, Gun In Traffic Stop

BREAKING: Two people were arrested after police allegedly found a concealed, loaded handgun and drugs including heroin in the car.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Police arrested two people Monday on suspicion of possessing a loaded firearm and narcotics following a traffic stop in Fairfield. According to police, an officer pulled over a vehicle near Blossom Avenue and Blossom Court. The officer contacted the occupants, who were visibly nervous.

Additional officers arrived and removed the pair from the vehicle and detained them. They were identified as 23-year-old Julius Sweetwine and 28-year-old Gottfried McWilliams Jr., both of Fairfield, police said.

Police searched their vehicle and found a loaded and concealed 9mm handgun, as well as various narcotics, including heroin, cocaine and promethazine, police said.

Sweetwine was arrested on suspicion of possessing the loaded and concealed firearm. McWilliams was cited for possessing narcotics and paraphernalia, police said.
