​Hotel Guest Accused Of 2 Armed Robberies

Castanya Tompkins was transported to Solano County Jail, where she was booked on suspicion of robbery and receipt of stolen property.

FAIRFIELD, CA — A guest at a Fairfield hotel allegedly used a gun to rob two nearby businesses Tuesday, police said.

Officers arrested 28-year-old Castanya Tompkins as she walked east on Business Center Drive toward Green Valley Road.

At 6:10 p.m., a business in the 5000 block of Business Center Drive was robbed at gunpoint, police said.

Investigators looked at surveillance footage and checked nearby hotels for people matching the suspect's description. An employee at one of the hotels identified the suspect as a guest who hadn't returned to their room.

Then at 7:14 p.m., someone reported another robbery at a business in the 5000 block of Business Center Drive. The suspect's description matched that of the woman who allegedly robbed the first business.

Officers found and arrested Tompkins and recovered the gun, which was reported stolen out of Richmond, along with a large sum of cash.

Tompkins was transported to Solano County Jail, where she was booked on suspicion of robbery and receipt of stolen property.
