Man Killed By Big Rig On I-80 in Fairfield Is Identified
CHP officials say drugs or alcohol may have played a factor in a Daly City man's death Friday around 6:30 a.m.

FAIRFIELD - The Solano County coroner’s office has identified a pedestrian who was killed when he was struck by a big-rig on Interstate Highway 80 in Fairfield on Friday as Cristoval Navarrete, 33, of Daly City.
California Highway Patrol officials said they received a call around 6:25 a.m. about a pedestrian who was behaving strangely in the traffic lanes near his disabled vehicle on the Green Valley Road off-ramp.
Navarrete was struck by the big rig on eastbound I-80 east of Suisun Valley Road around 6:40 a.m., according to the CHP.

CHP officials said drugs or alcohol may have played a factor in Navarrete’s death.
He was pronounced dead at 6:54 a.m. and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday, a coroner’s office deputy said.
