Pedestrian Struck On Travis Boulevard, Seriously Injured: Police

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A pedestrian was seriously injured after a vehicle struck her in Fairfield on Thursday. Officers with the Fairfield Police Department responded at 6:41 a.m. to the 700 block of East Travis Boulevard on report of a collision involving a pedestrian. A 47-year-old woman was walking to work on the sidewalk when she tried to cross the roadway and was struck by a vehicle, according to police.

Police said the woman was wearing dark clothing, and the driver of the vehicle did not see her until the moment of impact. The woman did not attempt to cross at a crosswalk.

There was no indication drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash, and police said it appears the driver of the vehicle was traveling within the posted speed limit.

The incident closed the roadway for several hours while emergency responders provided aid to the woman and investigators worked the scene.
