• Fire Department Announces 2026 Schedule for Community CPR and First Aid Classes (susanvillestuff.com) — Susanville residents can already plan ahead for the Fire Department’s 2026 community CPR and First Aid classes, offered quarterly from February through November. Each $30 session runs 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., is geared to the general public, and has limited space, so early registration by phone or email is encouraged.
   

• High Desert State Prison Donates Winter Coats to Local School Children (sierradailynews.com) — High Desert State Prison in Susanville has once again stepped up for local kids, donating 85 winter coats to students at Shaffer Elementary in nearby Litchfield. Staff organized the decade-long coat drive to help families facing cold Lassen County winters, and school leaders say the support is especially vital as more children in need enroll.
   

• California Farm Bureau holds annual meeting, elects leader (appeal-democrat.com) — Susanville is represented on the California Farm Bureau board by Taylor Hagata, who was re-elected for District 19 covering Lassen, Modoc, and Plumas-Sierra counties. The statewide meeting in Anaheim also confirmed Shannon Douglass for another term as president and highlighted advocacy on utility rates, farmland conservation, predator control, and support for farmworkers, along with several new and returning district leaders across California.
