1 Dead in Fiery Crash Near Vail Lake
The crash involving two vehicles and a motorcycle was reported at 11:07 p.m. Friday, causing the closure of Highway 79 at Vail Lake Road in both directions.

A person has died in a crash on Highway 79 at Vail Lake Road, just east of Temecula, according to reports.
The collision that resulted in a small vegetation fire was reported at 11:07 p.m. and involved two vehicles and a motorcycle, according to CAL FIRE/Riverside County Spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson.
One person died at the scene and two people were taken by ambulance to be treated for minor injuries, Hendrickson wrote in an incident report.
The fire was contained by about 11:30 p.m. and firefighters were expected to remain on scene until at least midnight, according to Hendrickson.
As of 12:07 a.m., California Highway Patrol issued a sigalert for Highway 79. The roadway will be closed in both directions for at least two hours, according to CHP.
