16 Arrested At Southwest Riverside Checkpoint
More than 1,300 cars drove through the checkpoint.

TEMECULA, CA -- Sixteen people were arrested at a DUI checkpoint in Temecula this weekend, police said. The checkpoint was held between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 12:30 a.m. Saturday at Ynez Road and DLR Drive in the city of Temecula.
More than 1,300 cars drove through the checkpoint and nine drivers were given field sobriety tests. One driver was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence, police said.
Another 15 drivers were arrested for unlicensed driving and five cars were towed, police said.

A checkpoint was also held in Moreno Valley this weekend where three drivers were arrested for allegedly driving under the influence. Another 19 drivers were arrested for driving without a license.
Drivers caught driving impaired can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to include jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes, license suspensions and other expenses that can exceed $10,000, police said.
