18-Year-Old Wildomar Driver Involved In Fatal Crash Along I-15
An 86-year-old driver from Fallbrook had the right of way, but the 18-year-old woman did not yield for reasons that are unclear.

BONSALL, CA — A Wednesday morning crash along southbound Interstate 15 at the Old Highway 395 offramp was fatal, the California Highway Patrol confirmed.
Southwest Riverside County commuters witnessed first responders at the two-vehicle wreck that was reported at approximately 7:40 a.m.
According to CHP Officer Hunter Gerber, an 18-year-old Wildomar woman exited at the offramp in a black Jaguar XF, stopped at the sign but failed to yield to oncoming traffic. She pulled into the Old Highway 395 intersection and crashed with a maroon Toyota Venza that had the right of way.

The Toyota overturned and the 86-year-old Fallbrook man behind the wheel was critically injured. He was transported to an area hospital but did not survive. His identity was not released pending notification of next of kin.
No other injuries were reported.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected as crash factors, Gerber said.
The crash cause remains under investigation. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Oceanside Area CHP office at 760-643-3400.
