Multicar Crash Near Temecula Valley High School Stalls Morning Traffic

Three cars collided while heading northbound on Margarita Road, between Rancho Vista and Pauba roads, early Thursday.

TEMECULA, CA — Three cars collided while heading northbound on Margarita Road near Temecula Valley High School Thursday morning, officials say. At least one person was taken to the hospital as a result of the crash, according to Riverside County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Deirdre Vickers.

As of 9:15 a.m., traffic toward the high school remained slow.

Riverside County Sheriff's Department deputies and Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department medics responded to the scene of the crash just after 8:30 a.m.

"Upon arrival, deputies discovered multiple vehicles with collision damage,"Vickers said.

According to initial information, the cars were heading northbound on Margarita Road, between Rancho Vista and Pauba roads.

Though two were injured in the collision, according to Cal Fire, only one was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

"No arrests have been made, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation," Vicker's said.
